My Story.
My Mission.

My journey in boxing begun at the age of 11 years old, where my uncle would teach and train me (the youngest of all), my brother, and my two cousins. After a few weeks of lessons in my Grandmother’s lounge, he asked my mother for permission to convert her garage into a boxing gym; and that was the beginning of it all.

After around two years of training as a family, everyone had gradually stopped coming to the garage, but not me – it was on my doorstep after all. At the age of just 13 years old, I would take on my first clients (although I don’t count this as actual coaching experience). I would invite my friends, teach them the very little I knew at the time, and had some good fun sparring. I have done this ever since.

From the ages of around 14-18 years old I knew I needed proper training myself, but couldn’t find a home. That didn’t stop me from learning, and working with some great coaches along my way, going from gym to gym. However at the age of 18, the respectable names of Julius Elie and Lee Cox somewhat took me under their wing, getting me competing – and winning. It was also at this age (18) where I first started coaching, just after my first bout.

Like many great ventures, my training began in a garage; as did my coaching. Since 11 years old, my garage had come a long way and had everything you needed for proper boxing training. I began coaching one-to-one sessions and very small groups for just £5 a session while I was building experience and a customer base. Soon after, my skills were recognised, and I was employed to be a head coach for the original white collar boxing shows in Basingstoke, Uppercut White Collar Boxing (UCWCB). It is here where I first got the opportunity to train fighters and gain experience working in corners. I coached two events before it dissolved.

After this chapter I was off to university, the prestigious University of Bath; to obtain a FdSc in Sports Performance and to chase competition within boxing. Just before university I begun training with The Boxing Locker (Matt Goddard) in Odiham/Hook, who himself is a fantastic coach – genuinely one of the best in the business. Due to the Covid-19 pandemics, I trained with The Boxing Locker more than anticipated through university and I am grateful for it. However my main home for boxing was at Roman Boxing Gym in Bath. Coach Darren Sullivan really helped me to realise my potential and taught me great things. These two coaches are the ones who really broke down the science for me, and helped me establish my style and boxing philosophy.

Bath Fight Night

I have been the head coach for Bath Fight Night since February 2023, and have ran their training camps for every event since. It is a student boxing event in Bath, where students sign up for a 7-8 week training camp and compete in a night of explosive white collar boxing. It is a fantastically ran show, and if you are a student and you have a ‘Fight Night’ event near you; it is an experience I would highly recommend.
